Amouage, a famous luxury perfume house, was founded in 1983 by the Sultan of Oman, His Highness Sayyid Hamad bin Hamoud al bu Said. He strived to create a line of perfumes that re-introduced the Arabian art of perfumery. The name Amouage comes from a combination of the word “amour” and an Arabic word meaning “waves.”
